Boris Tushkou stands with his pet ferret Skalalaska on May 9, 2019 at Whale Park in Ketchikan, Alaska. Tushkou owns three ferrets, which are all rescued animals acquired through Juneau Animal Rescue. Tushkou recently lost a ferret that was very comfortable being on a leash and is hoping, that with practice, Skalalaska will be just as comfortable during walks in the park. Skalalaska is a Russian word which translates to female mountain climber.
